Dear West Running Brook Families:

After a well deserved break, we got right back into the swing of things this week. Students began NWEA assessments and we all celebrated staff appreciation week!

Thank you to our wonderful PTSA for providing such an amazing Staff Appreciation Week! Once again our PTSA outdid themselves! Each day our staff had another surprise to look forward to. Thank you to all of those who donated for making this week extra special. Our staff couldn’t have been more appreciative! Below is a photo of our staff enjoying today’s candy and bloom bar.

Finding Nemo - Tickets Available!

Come make a splash with us! West Running Brook Intermediate School is hosting a fin-tastic production of Finding Nemo Jr. on May 16th and 17th at Gilbert H. Hood Middle School. Our students have been working their gills off to bring this underwater adventure to life, and it’s sure to be a whale of a time for the whole family! SEE HERE for details on how to purchase tickets—don’t miss the chance to sea this incredible cast dive into their roles!

Thanks for helping us spread the word and support these talented students as they go off the hook on stage!  This is a totally kid-friendly performance and will have a run time of about 1.5 hours (including intermission).

Scaffolding

Beginning on Monday, you will notice scaffolding will be placed around much of the exterior of WRB. This is the first stage of a major project to repair the building’s facade. Due to the limited time to complete the project over the summer, this step is being taken now to ensure things wrap up prior to the beginning of the 25-26 school year.

In areas where sidewalks lead directly into the building, overhead protection will be installed, and all doors will remain accessible for use. The entire scaffolding including the walkway areas, will be wrapped in debris netting for the first eight feet' in height so no students/staff/visitors can access the scaffolding areas.

Please see below for lots of important information!

Free & Reduced Lunch ~ Breakfast available

Just a quick reminder to all families, if your child qualifies for FREE or REDUCED lunches with the DCSD, then they also receive FREE breakfast each day.  We offer a variety of whole grain items such muffins, cinnamon rolls, donuts, banana bread, Pop-tart toaster pastry (Chocolate, Cinnamon, Strawberry and Blueberry) and breakfast cereal such as Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Chex, Cocoa Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cheerios.  One of these items, accompanied by a fruit or fruit juice and Fat Free Chocolate or White Milk will help them to fuel their bodies for a productive day.  If you'd like to see if your household qualifies, please visit the website www.myschoolapps.com and submit an online application.
