2026 Annual Meeting
The following menus contain documents relevant to the Derry School Board’s proposed 2026-2027 School District Budget, and warrant articles pertaining to the Maintenance Trust Fund, the Use of Bond Interest for Facilities, and Sale of the SAU Office . These items will be up for consideration at the District's annual meeting.
The Derry School District Annual Meeting is comprised of two parts. The first session is the Deliberative Session, at which time the Derry School Board will present the items up for consideration. This will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 10:00am in the West Running Brook Intermediate School gymnasium. It is suggested you arrive by 9:30 am to allow for time to check-in. The Board will provide an explanation of Articles 2-5, and registered Derry voters in attendance will have the opportunity to discuss, debate, amend and ultimately vote on whether to advance the articles to the second session. In order to vote in the Deliberative Session, you must be registered to vote by Tuesday, January 20, 2026. There will be no same-day voter registration at the Deliberative Session. The second session is the Voting Session, where registered Derry voters will have the opportunity to vote by ballot on the election of school district officers and on the articles approved at the Deliberative Session. This will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 from 7:00am to 8:00pm, at the Pinkerton Academy Hackler Gymnasium.

Sample Ballot
Two open seats on the Derry School Board will be filled at the voting session on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Two expiring 3-Year terms will be filled. The filing period opens on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 7am and closes on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 5pm. Interested candidates can file at the Town Clerk's office at the Derry Municipal Center. In order to file as a candidate, you must be a resident of Derry and registered to vote by Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Shall the School District raise and appropriate as an operating budget, not including appropriations by special warrant articles and other appropriations voted separately, the amounts set forth on the budget posted with the warrant or as amended by vote of the first session, for the purposes set forth therein, totaling $113,427,524? Should this article be defeated, the 2026-2027 default budget shall be $113,765,475, which is the same as last year with certain adjustments required by previous action of the School District or by law; or the governing body may hold one special meeting, in accordance with RSA 40:13, X, and XVI, to take up the issue of a revised operating budget only. Majority vote required. (Recommended by the Derry School Board)

Shall the School District vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $500,000 to be added to the Maintenance and Repair Expendable Trust Fund previously established, such sum to come from June 30 fund balance available for transfer on July 1, 2026, with no additional amount to be raised from taxation. Majority vote required.

- Shall the School District vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $700,000 for the purpose of financing school facility capital maintenance improvements, including, but not limited to, roofs, building façades, HVAC and doors/windows, and to authorize the use of that amount of June 30 fund balance for this purpose. This amount represents the interest earned on bond proceeds that was transferred to the general fund on or before June 30. (Majority vote required)
Shall the School District vote to authorize the Derry School Board to sell the property located at 18 South Main Street, Derry, New Hampshire (current location of the SAU #10 offices) with the buildings thereon, in such manner and on such terms as it deems in the best interest of the District, and to further authorize the School Board to take any and all actions to facilitate and/or consummate this conveyance, including securing necessary approvals and executing necessary documents, with said sale subject to the District’s compliance with the statutory right of first refusal provision granted to charter schools by RSA 194:61? (Majority vote required)
