Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,

Once again, we would like to thank the staff, students, and families for their patience and understanding as we shifted to an emergency Remote Learning Day last Friday.   We had a burst pipe that caused some flooding. Repairs and cleanup continued through the weekend, allowing us to resume normal school hours on Monday.  We are grateful for the hard work of many to make this possible, especially our amazing maintenance and custodial staff.

Lift-ups:

•Lift up to seventh grade student Jordi. As the GHH Spelling Bee winner, this student has made it through the Regional Bee and has moved on to the State Bee on March 28.  Well done!

•Lift up to seventh grade student Henry who won honorable mention in film production through the PTA Reflection program.  Great job!

Morning Car Drop Off - We need your help

For the safety of everyone, follow these procedures if you are driving in the morning car rider line behind the building:

  • Wait to drop off your child(ren) until you are in the  drop-off zone and signalled by a staff member .  The drop-off zone is between the crosswalk near the dining hall doors (Door 16) to the corner of the building.

  • Do not proceed or bypass vehicles where students are exiting a vehicle and approaching the sidewalk.

  • Throughout the process, drive slowly  and cautiously.  (Sometimes the actions of middle school students can be unpredictable!)

The safety of our students, staff, and families must remain our top priority.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.
