Principal's Message - 05.10.2026

Husky picture

Hello Gilbert H. Hood Families,

On behalf of the GHH staff, I would like to thank the PTSA for the amazing Staff Appreciation Week celebrated this past week.  We are so grateful for the thoughtful and creative events provided each day.  A special, heartfelt thank you to all the families who contributed and helped make it happen!

Lift-ups:

•Lift up to the students who were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this week.  These students have been recognized as future leaders, and we look forward to their ongoing positive contributions to our school community.

•Lift up to the Student Council who hosted the Spring Thing afterschool event on Friday. Participating students had a great time together–playing games, dancing, and enjoying Kona Ice treats.

•Lift up to the students who were named to the April Husky Top 10! These students were identified by their teachers as exemplifying our “Be Husky Strong” theme.  To demonstrate the attributes of being “Husky Strong” students work hard, make good choices, and show kindness to others.  We appreciate how these students positively contribute to our school community.

•Lift up to the Rotary Students of the Month for this month.  Students are selected each month based on academic achievement, school involvement, and community service.  We are proud of how these students represent themselves, their families, and our entire school community through their character and leadership.
